Three years ago today, Anthony and I were married during a very quiet ceremony in Venice, Italy.
(And when I say quiet, I mean it. Our guest list included me, him, the official, a translator, a photographer, our wedding planner, and a witness who was a friend of our planner.) If I hadn’t put so much planning into the whole event, I would have called it an elopement! ; )
I know some of you couldn’t imagine having your “big day” without your family members present, but with all the divorces, and step this and that and estrangements and very elderly we had going on, this was absolutely the best option for us. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that our wedding was more about US than the dress, flowers, cake, and other do dads that some people think are so important. (Most of the time the people thinking that aren’t even the couple! lol)
|Yeah, not gonna lie. This pic made me feel like I was in a magazine!|
The funny thing is that we didn’t realize we had planned our wedding on Labor Day until right before we left. (It isn’t labor day in Italy ya know!) But in the end I guess it worked out pretty well. We will always have the day off to celebrate at least. (Now we just have to find a way to get rid of the kid!)
