Here’s a really simple tutorial for the Castaway dress that I shared yesterday. It’s soft, comfortable, and I love that they are easy enough to throw together in less than an hour. I mentioned that the blue and white one is Reli’s new favorite dress, but I can’t stop making them, and she already has three others to choose from! It’s definitely a “quick and dirty” type of refashion and since it’s knit, it’s very forgiving. Don’t worry about trying to cut everything perfect and straight. Honestly, just slap it together and set them free. It’s the perfect playtime dress!
That’s it. I told you it was easy!
And if you decided not to add the pocket, I bet you could be finished in 15 minutes!
Doesn’t that big ol’ grin just make you wanna dig through
your refashion pile and make one of your own?
She's so adorable, you're right, I do want to make one of my refashion pile though…
She has her moments I guess. ;D
I happen to LOVE that little smile!! If I lost a few pounds I could probably take her hand me downs! LOL!! I sometimes think the reason children flock to me is due to the fact that we see "eye to eye"!! LOVE the color on this one Toni!!!
Ha! I actually stole that from my own wardrobe, so it probably would have fit you before I hacked it up! I didn't have time to run to the thrift store when I was making the tutorial, so I sacrificed a t-shirt straight out of my own dresser. Probably looks better on her anyway since I'm more of a v-neck kinda gal. 😉
I love those quick and satisfying refashions! Sometimes they're exactly what I need (and stripes always rocks!
Thanks for sharing, I'm posting soon two shirt to dresses (from polo) me too, on SergerPepper.blogspot.it

Very cute! I like the stripe pattern on this dress. Turned out beautifully–I will have to use this pattern for my youngest daughters. Thank you for sharing this tutorial!
Thank you for sharing. I'm going to remember this for when my daughter is a bit bigger

Super cute! Love good refashion projects!
that is so cute! and so easy looking too! I've remade tons of my husbands shirts into Pjs for my boys… but haven't done many dresses as I don't have any girls… I do love refashions though!! emily @ nap-timecreations.com
Such a creative idea. My first granddaughter is 2 months old, I can't wait until she is old enough for me to make several tee shirt dresses for her!
