Also know as my “sad attempt at shop promotion” post. 😀
If you’re gearing up for the My Little Pony Costume Sew-Along next week, here are a few versions of what you could make. And if you aren’t too sure about your sewing skills, all of these are also available in my new SugarTartCrafts Etsy shop as individual pieces, play-sets, or complete costumes. Check em’ out. They’re ridiculously cute!
This last one is a look at the amazing cutie mark embroideries I had made specially for the costume pants.
Aren’t they gorgeous!? I wish I had an embroidery machine and could claim them, but these were designed and stitched by my new friend E the Pony. He specializes in My Little Pony Embroidery, and makes beautiful patches and custom work for a fraction of what others would charge…simply for the love of the show!
If you are joining the sew-along, I highly suggest ordering one of his cutie mark patches for your pants. (or downloading his pes files if you already have an embroidery machine. You lucky duck!) Most of them are less than $6, and they will hold up a heck of a lot better than an iron-on transfer. Plus you can always remove it when your kid outgrows the pants and stitch it on a jacket or backpack!
Shameless promotion ended.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
I can’t wait to kick this sew-along off on Monday!
Oh My Gosh!!! These look SEW Devine!!! I LOVE the unicorn horn!! That would look SO stinkin cute on a winter hat made of fleece!!! Love them ALL! Great Job Toni, as usual!! kweenbee_612@yahoo.com
Thanks Chelle! You can tell that she was SUPER excited about the photo-shoots this time! 😀
So cute!
Thanks Robin, I've had a lot of fun making them!
I am so happy to have found your blog just when you are doing this! My daughter wants to be Princess Celestia for Halloween, and I have been searching for tutorials on how to make it — the ears and horn are totally doable for me:). And I can't wait for the wing tutorial! Thank you:)
Nice to have you along! I haven't made a Princess Celestia yet, but she's on my list with Luna, Sweetie Belle, Big, Mac, and Derpy. Can't wait to see how yours turns out!
Just ordered my Rarity cutie mark – thanks for the tip. I'm waiting on the mane to see what options you'll have on day 12. Thanks for teaching us all!
You're very welcome! E does a fabulous job with all his embroideries, so you definitely won't be disappointed! Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a great way to make Rarity and Pinkie's curls yet, so my alternate hair-styles are pretty much just Twilight Sparkle's blunt bangs and a bit of the side fringe that a few of the other ponies have. Still more experimenting to do I guess.
Toni I dont know how to sew nor do I have access to a sewing machine but I love your costumes would u ever consider making a costume for me I have a 4 1/2 yr old twilight sparkle fanatic and cant find any warm suitable costumes I think yours are amazing!
omg this is sooooooooo amazing
Thanks Kathryn!
