Hi! I’m Bethany, and I blog at Whistle & Ivy
, where I share recipes, craft tutorials and free crochet patterns
I am excited to be a part of Sugar Rush 2013 and share my Candy Cane Blossoms!
Peppermint is one of my favorite flavors of the season, and I fell on love with these Candy Cane Kisses®
when they came out a few years ago. I knew I had to incorporate them into a Christmas cookie!
Candy Cane Blossoms
3/4 C Softened Butter
1 C Sugar
2 T Vanilla
2 T Baking Powder
3 1/2 C Flour
1 t salt
Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses
Powdered Sugar to taste
8 oz Softened Cream Cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and butter together. Add vanilla and eggs. Beat until smooth. Mix in the rest of your dry ingredient.
You can either roll out and cut out circles with a cookie cutter, or you can roll a ball and flatten it. Then, put a kiss in the middle of the dough. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake 10 minutes.
When the cookies are cooled, pipe frosting in a petal formation. I tried to make the frosting look like a twist of pink and white, like a candy cane, but it didn’t work out too well!
These cookies are best when warm, and the Kisses are slightly melted. Enjoy!

Thanks so much for joining us today Bethany!
Those blossoms look amazing, and I can only imagine how good they taste
when the kisses are still warm and melt-y. Yum!
If you’re into crochet, I definitely suggest taking a look at Bethany’s fun patterns. These little eskimo hats would make the perfect stocking stuffers! And if you’re like me and it takes you an inordinately long time (*cough cough* 2 years *cough*) to crochet something that would take any normal person about a week or so, you might want to start working on a pair of her super cute baby shoes. The boat shoes and bow sandals are both adorable, but I think the tiny gladiator sandals are my personal favorites!
