Printable 2014 Goal Checklist

I’m a list maker. Big time.
It’s so bad sometimes, I’ve got lists keeping track of my other lists!
And I’m also one of those people that likes to add things to
their list just so they can scratch it off a second later.
Eat breakfast – Check.
Start the laundry – Done.
Fold Laundry – Err…maybe later
Unload the dishwasher – Umm… Not just yet
Waste an hour sorting through my giant stack of lists – Totally!
There’s just something so satisfying about those tiny accomplishments.
(or maybe it just makes me feel like I’m actually doing something while I avoid what I should be doing!)
Either way, I love to work towards my goals one check, scratch, or scribble at a time.
So naturally a checklist (or three) is exactly what I need when it comes time to
make my overenthusiastic completely realistic New Years resolutions.
I don’t really like to call them resolutions though since that kinda makes you feel like a failure at the end of the year when your didn’t actually do the things you “resolved” to do. I like to call them goals instead. That gives you something to work towards, and it’s much more fun to look back on all the accomplishments. Then at the end of the year if a few happen to go uncompleted, Oh well, you can always just roll those into the next years list of goals. It’s all about the baby steps!

If you happen to be a list maker like me, I made printable versions of my pretty little checklist in sizes 8.5 x 11 or 5 x 7 so that you can set some 2014 goals of your own. The 5×7 image would be perfect to frame and set beside your computer as a frequent reminder of your plans. Then you can use a white board marker to easily check items off as you accomplish them. Just don’t forget to toss in a few “easy” goals so you can have that thrill of marking things off early in the year and keep your spirits up!
Printing Note: It works best if you save the pdf to your computer rather than printing straight from
the Google docs page. You’ll have more printer options and can center the image more evenly.

And since I know you’re probably wondering, here are my goals for 2014.

Some are easy, some are hard, and some are pretty subjective in nature, but they are all

things that will help me work towards my larger goals for my sewing, blog, and family.

I figure I’ll realistically be able to scratch off at least 20 out of 33 by the end of the year.

…26 if I work really hard.

What about you – How do you scratch things off your to-do lists?

Do you like to start with the hardest things first or the easiest?
