Shh, don’t tell my other patterns, but this Boardwalk Henley is my new favorite! I’m sure you can’t tell from the pictures (because someone can’t stand still for a close-up…hmm, I wonder who?), but this shirt turned out so great! I mean, I’ve sewn my fair share of clothes, and I like to think that I know what I’m doing, but for some reason I was intimidated when I considered buying this pattern. Maybe it’s just my unfamiliarity with boy clothes, but I was honestly worried. It turns out I had absolutely nothing to worry about, and now I could totally kick myself for not trying it sooner!

Real world outfit testing – You better believe this kid will put it through the ringer! |
If you’ve ever sewn one of Amy’s patterns before, you already know I’m a complete loon for ever doubting her amazing pattern-making skills. (Sorry Amy!) Her Peek-a-Boo Pattern Shop is chock full of almost 150 of the cutest patterns out there, and her instructions are always impeccable. And if you’re having one of those off days where you just can’t figure anything out (and you probably should have taken a break days hours ago) Amy or one of the sweet ladies from her facebook group will help answer all your questions.

The fabric I used is sold out, but these should be very similar options. |
But don’t start thinking that I’m giving the Coastal Craze Baggies the brush off simply because of my new love affair with the henley pattern. These are the perfect “toss em’ on” shorts for all your summer adventures. They’re quick and easy to whip up, and super comfortable too! I’ve already started working my way through my up-cycle pile in an attempt to fill Corbin’s sadly empty summer drawer with new shorts.
I’d love to hear from you guys.
Have your sewn any of Amy’s patterns before? What’s your favorite Peek-a-Boo Pattern?
Share it at the linky party here. If you haven’t, I’m positive you’ll be impressed with the results. I sure was!
He is so cute! I'd love to attempt to sew this for B
Thanks Samantha! I'm sure you would love this shirt if you gave it a try. I't so easy to make and very comfy "wash & wear" for busy little guys.
